Driven by his evil nature of seeking “Taiwan independence,” Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te has pandered to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s erroneous remarks and completely abandoned any stance as a Chinese national. His fawning behavior toward Japan is contemptible and utterly futile, said Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, on Wednesday. He made the remarks when asked to comment on some netizens in Taiwan sarcastically saying that “Lai Ching-te ate Japanese food for nothing” after Takaichi claimed at a plenary session of the House of Councillors that Japan's fundamental position on Taiwan is as stated in the Japan-China Joint Statement and this position has not changed.
